Two hunters, Paul and Kurt, were sitting in a hunting lodge one evening after a long day in the woods. A warm fire crackled in the fireplace as they made small talk over a couple of drinks.
Paul turned to Kurt and asked, “So, what do you usually hunt out there?”
Kurt took a slow sip of his drink and said casually, “Unicorns.”
Paul nearly dropped his glass.
“Unicorns?!” he said. “You’re kidding, right?”
“Nope,” Kurt replied calmly.
Paul leaned forward with curiosity. “Alright, now you’ve got to explain this. How exactly do you hunt a unicorn?”
Kurt nodded like it was the most normal thing in the world.
“Well,” he said, “first I find a virgin and hire her to help me.”
Paul blinked. “A virgin?”
“Yep,” Kurt continued. “I have her sit quietly in the woods. According to legend, unicorns are attracted to virgins. So eventually, a unicorn comes walking up to her.”
Paul listened carefully, fascinated.
“And then what happens?” he asked.
Kurt smiled. “When the unicorn gets close, it triggers a hidden snare trap. That’s when I catch it.”
Paul sat back, impressed but puzzled.
“Wow,” he said. “That must be incredibly difficult. I’ve heard of unicorns my whole life, but I’ve never actually seen one.”
Kurt nodded thoughtfully and took another sip of his drink.
“Yeah,” he said.
“There aren’t many unicorns around these days…”
He paused for a moment and added,
“…and there aren’t many virgins, either.” 😄
