A hunter once went out to the plains to hunt buffalo. Since he didn’t know the land very well, he decided to hire an experienced Indian scout to help him track the animals.
Early the next morning, the two men saddled their horses and rode out across the wide open prairie, searching for signs of buffalo.
After riding for a while, the scout suddenly stopped his horse. He slowly climbed down, bent over, and placed his ear against the ground.
He stayed there for a few seconds, listening carefully.
Then he stood up and said calmly,
“Hmm… buffalo come.”
The hunter quickly grabbed his binoculars and began scanning the horizon. He looked left, right, and everywhere in between.
But he couldn’t see a single buffalo.
Confused, he turned to the scout and said,
“I don’t see anything. How do you know buffalo are coming?”
The scout calmly pointed to the ground and said,
“I put ear to ground. Feel vibration.”
The hunter nodded, impressed by the scout’s tracking skills.
Then the scout added,
“Also… ear sticky.” 😄
