Dad said, “Don’t talk about bugs at the dinner table

Little Ethan was having dinner with his parents when he noticed something floating in his dad’s bowl of soup. He leaned closer, squinted, and realized it was a tiny bug doing what looked like the backstroke.

Curious, he asked, “Dad, are bugs good to eat?”

His father nearly dropped his spoon.

“Ethan! That’s disgusting. We do not talk about bugs while we’re eating!”

“Oh… okay,” Ethan said quietly.

The family finished dinner in silence. Dad happily slurped every last drop of his soup and even wiped the bowl clean with a piece of bread.

After dinner, Dad leaned back in his chair and smiled.

“So, son, what was it you wanted to ask earlier?”

Ethan shrugged.

“Nothing important.”

Dad laughed. “Come on, you can tell me now.”

Ethan grinned.

“Well… there was a bug swimming in your soup.”

Dad’s smile disappeared.

“But don’t worry,” Ethan added. “It’s gone now.”

Dad stared at the empty bowl, turned slightly green, and whispered, “I suddenly don’t feel so hungry anymore.”

The rest of the family couldn’t stop laughing! 😂
