A Husband Said To His Wife.

For an entire week, a husband kept repeating the same strange sentence to his wife.

One morning at breakfast he smiled and said,
“Today is a fine day.”

The next morning… the same thing.

“Today is a fine day.”

The day after that… again.

“Today is a fine day.”

At first the wife ignored it. She thought maybe he was just in a good mood or trying to be poetic. But after hearing the exact same line every single morning for a week, it started driving her crazy.

Monday: “Today is a fine day.”
Tuesday: “Today is a fine day.”
Wednesday: “Today is a fine day.”
Thursday: “Today is a fine day.”
Friday: “Today is a fine day.”

By the seventh day she finally snapped.

She slammed her coffee cup on the table and said,
“Alright! That’s it! Since last week you keep repeating the same sentence every day — ‘Today is a fine day.’ I’m completely fed up with hearing it. What on earth is wrong with you?”

The husband calmly folded his newspaper and looked at her.

“Oh… nothing’s wrong,” he said.

“Then why do you keep saying it?” she demanded.

The husband leaned back in his chair and gave a small, innocent smile.

“Well… do you remember our argument last week?”

The wife crossed her arms. “Yes… so?”

He nodded and said,

“You told me something very important.”

“What?” she asked impatiently.

The husband cleared his throat and replied,

“You said… ‘One fine day I’m going to leave you.’”

Then he shrugged and said,

“So every morning I’m just reminding you… in case today is that fine day.” 😄
