The Teacher Asked Johnny If He Had Any Pets.

One morning in class, the teacher decided to ask the students about their pets.

“Alright children,” she said, smiling. “Who here has a pet at home?”

Little Johnny immediately raised his hand and waved it like he was directing airplanes.

“Yes, Johnny?” the teacher said cautiously.

Johnny stood up proudly. “I have a pet cat.”

“Oh that’s nice,” the teacher replied. “Cats make lovely pets.”

Johnny nodded seriously and said, “Yeah, but something crazy happened this morning before I came to school.”

The whole class leaned in, already knowing Johnny’s stories usually ended in trouble.

“So this morning,” Johnny began, “I poured some lighter fuel into my cat’s water bowl.”

The teacher’s eyes widened. “You did WHAT?!”

Johnny continued calmly, “Then the cat drank it.”

The teacher was already horrified, but Johnny kept going.

“Right after that,” he said, “the cat suddenly zoomed up the stairs like a rocket. Then it jumped across the beds, ran back downstairs, raced through the living room, jumped onto the curtains, climbed all the way to the top… and then suddenly it fell down to the floor and just lay there completely still.”

The classroom went silent.

The teacher gasped. “Oh my goodness, Johnny! That’s terrible! Was your cat dead?!”

Johnny shook his head.

“No, Miss,” he said casually.

“He just ran out of gas.” 😄
